Faithful
Planning is an intentional planning process based on the Biblical image
of the church as the body of Christ. Christ, the head of the church, directs the
body, through the work of the Holy Spirit. In Faithful Planning we seek God’s
specific purpose for the congregation in the near future. We pray and rely on
the Holy Spirit to help us discern God’s purpose. We also use skills developed
in other settings, such as business. We use tools that human beings have
designed to help us gain understanding of the community the congregation serves
and to help us assess the congregation’s strengths, weaknesses, and resources.
We make reasonable decisions concerning the best match of the congregation’s
gifts and the world’s needs. We set priorities and allocate resources
accordingly.
At Christian Temple, we undertook this solemn task in April 2002 with a
Leadership Team that sought significant input and interaction with our
Congregation's leaders, the Church Board and the entire Congregation. The
result, approved by the Congregation and the Church Board in October 2002, is
something we feel will help us to move forward and do God's work in Lorain.
-
Core Values
-
The "Core Values" of a Congregation are those attitudes and values
that are held as a group which consistently prioritize the behavior of
individuals and the congregation as a group.
-
Statements of Belief
-
Statements of Belief convert the Core Value into a sentence that
expands on what it means to us and for us.
-
Statement of Calling (Mission)
-
A Statement of Calling helps clarify the purpose of the church.
It provides guidance for all proposed plans and projects as well as a
framework for evaluating existing programs and services. As such, it
helps us to set priorities for our congregation's human and material
resources.

Ministry Plan
-
A Ministry
Plan contains the Congregational Goals for the next 3-5 years; it is a plan
of action that answers the questions: How can it be achieved?
What steps need to be taken? By when? Who will be the persons or
groups with primary responsibility for accomplishing the goal?
