This web site is hosted by InfoVUE.net, a Medina business. InfoVUE.net had three advantages. We felt it important, if possible, to use a local service provider. Also, InfoVUE.net has a policy not to host web sites with adult content. Last, InfoVUE.net has "FrontPage extensions" running on its web servers, which will make our site easier to maintain.

When you request one of our church web pages with your browser, InfoVUE.net logs several items of information about your request. This log information includes your Internet address, which is a number your Internet Service Provider assigns to you when you dial into the Internet. You typically get a different Internet address each time you dial in, so we cannot use it to tell who you are. InfoVUE.net also logs the date and time of your request, the type of browser you use (for example Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer), and sometimes logs the URL of the page you came from. Lorain Christian Temple has no control over whether InfoVUE.net logs this information. Analyzing the server logs may help us determine how to improve the web site content. We don't know yet whether we will use the web server logs InfoVUE.net provides.

This web site is fully public. All of the information it contains may be viewed by any site visitor. There are no password-protected members-only areas.

There is no interactive content on our web site. If we find an interest from our audience to do so, we may in the future provide online discussions or chat capabilities. If we do this, it will be in a password-protected area and could include more sensitive material than the public site: contact names and phone numbers, prayer requests, meeting minutes, board reports, discussions of issues facing the church, and the like.

As a web site visitor, you are anonymous. We do not require visitors to provide any information of any kind. We may store a browser "cookie" file on your computer. Within our web site content, we never volunteer home mailing addresses, phone numbers, or email addresses for any living individual. If you would like your home or email address or phone number to be published for church purposes, please provide us with written permission.

We may publish the full names of adult members, including church staff members, officers, employees, committee chairs and group leaders. All published points of contact with church staff will be by church phone or email addresses. It is important that anyone be able to contact the church staff, but that initial contact occur through the church office. While we may use the full name of adults associated with the church, we will only publish your phone number and/or email addresses with your written permission.

We may publish the first names only of youth under 18 years old. We do not provide their last names.

We may provide information on the deceased for we can do them no harm.

For their safety, we do not name missionaries who are active in areas with governments that are or may become hostile to Christianity.

Please note the church office maintains a church directory which is published periodically. It contains names, home addresses, phone numbers and email addresses of most everyone associated with the church. The church directory may be available to you. Publication of the church directory is independent of this web site and we have no control over the information it contains or its distribution.

We count web page views. This means we know how many times each of our web pages has been sent across the Internet. We use the count of web page views to find out what parts of the web site are being used more than others. We use this feedback to improve the web site.

This web site contains links to web sites operated by other parties. These links are provided for your reference only. Lorain Christian Temple does not control other web sites and is not responsible for their content. All you need is a full name, birth date and birthplace to get someone's birth certificate. Once you have a birth certificate, it's simple to get a driver's license. At that point you have stolen someone else's identity. Find out their mother's maiden name and you can get their financial records, too. That's the ticket to their Social Security number. Now you can ruin their credit and give them a criminal record. We encourage you to educate yourselves regarding how to use the Internet safely.
